Dorothy Gangl Wood Van Winkle passed away at Cottage in the Meadow on November 23, 2018. Dorothy was born on June 18, 1936 and was a resident of Yakima county most of her life. She married Roy Adams in 1954 and had three children from this union: Vickie, Elaine and Mike Adams.
Dorothy worked as a nurse at Memorial Hospital from 1964 to 1997.
Dorothy loved gardening and her U pick orchard. She was an avid doll collector and cherished many from her childhood. Dorothy is survived by her brother, Carl Gangl, her children Vickie (Daryl) Bullard and Mike (Deanna) Adams and her nine grandchildren and numerous great grands. She is preceded in death by her daughter, Elaine Tongate, her parents Karl and Zelma Gangl, husbands, Roy Adams, Vern Wood, Lynn Van Winkle.
Viewing will be held on Dec. 5 between 4-8 pm at Rainier Chapel. Interment will be on Thursday morning December 6 at 11 am at Terrace Heights Memorial Park. Her memorial service will be on Saturday December 8 at 11:00 am First Baptist Church in Union Gap.
