James E. Miller

James Miller

James Elwood Miller was born on February 11, 1953, to William and Raymalee (Hoggatt) Miller in Seattle, Washington. He died on May 15, 2018, at Cottage in the Meadow with his family at his side.

Jim was raised in Sunnyside, Washington until the age of 16. The family then moved to the Naches area. He attended school in Naches, then joined the Air Force after graduation. He married Wanda Trissell on November 13, 1971.

After his time in the service, Jim and Wanda settled in Naches where they raised 3 sons. Jim worked at Longview Fibre during this time.

On June 6, 1997, Jim married his childhood crush, Linda Smith. He remained in Naches and worked as a truck driver for Price Warehouse.

Jim had many interests including watching his sons play sports, fishing, and playing softball. After retirement, he found pleasure working in his yard, cheering on the Seahawks and Mariners, and having family over for dinner. He was happiest when his sons and grandchildren were visiting.

Jim had a great sense of humor that could make any situation funny. He enjoyed playing C.M. and loved his three Boston Terriers.

Jim is survived by his wife Linda Miller, sons Jamey, Bobby (Scott), and Scott (Summer), stepson Chad Smith, grandchildren Brooke, Drew, Liam, Brady, Raymalee and Beau, brothers Bill (Janie) Miller, Don (Patty) Miller, and sister Cheri Mullinax, father and mother-in-law Bob and Joan Smith, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents.

At Jim’s request no funeral will be held. A memorial service is planned for August 26th.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to Cottage in the Meadow.
